Louise Canfield grew up in northwest Louisiana, but spent most of her career as a Professor of Biochemistry in Arizona.  Now retired, she lives with her husband and two hopelessly spoiled Boston Terriers in Spring Texas.   She has published essays in online magazines such as YouShare, in The Writers Guild of Virginia Review and in The Dog Really Did That?, Chicken Soup for the Soul.   She is currently working on a novel and short stories  about the lives of southern women in post -reconstruction Louisiana.
